class preparation

Yoga means union – Uniting the physical, the mental and emotional body through the practice of asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breath control) and mindfulness to improve mental and physical strength – improve flexibility – improve concentration – balance the hormones.

When we have the power to control the mind and the body, we then have the capacity to unite the body, mind, heart and soul with harmony, love and peace.

 

what to take in

before class

  • Yoga and meditation is best practised on an empty stomach – please avoid food at least 1-2 hours before class

  • Drink plenty of water daily – come to class well hydrated.

  • Wear what you feel comfortable in and bring a mat, towel and water.

 

when you arrive

  • Come 10 -15 minutes before the class starts to register.

  • Mats and towels are available for hire / coconut water for sale

  • Mention any injuries or special conditions to the teacher before class – we can better guide you.

 

during class

  • yoga is a journey – embrace the moment and do what you can with what you have now – your flexibility will improve and so will your strength and will power.

  • Be accepting of where you are on your yoga journey – knowing you have the power to create wellness for your body and your mind.
